100 attendees to the final presentation of the Open Minds project in Brussels

The final presentation of the Open Minds project took place on April 11, 2025. About a hundred people attended the public presentation of the Open Minds platform at the great amphitheatre of the Walloon-Brussels Federation.

This event brought together associative actors, responsible for public access centers to computing (EPN), trainers, experts in free digital technologies, as well as institutional representatives and militants committed to an ethical, open and supportive internet.

The objective of this day was to publicize the Open Minds project, a collaborative platform dedicated to associations and actors in the social digital field, developed to facilitate access to free digital tools, training and pedagogical resources adapted to their realities on the ground.

Participants were able to discover the functionalities of the openmindsproject.eu portal, designed to offer quick access to:

  • More than 200 free digital solutions;
  • 60 tokens of committed users;
  • A map of 300 pedagogical actors, 57 of them in Belgium;
  • about 100 documentary and pedagogical resources.
  • 6 training modules available online and face-to-face drop-downs

The event was articulated around the presentation by the project partners of each of the results obtained, followed by a round table and a conference:

  • A round table entitled “Making the Internet to citizens: associations have a strategic role to play”, with Éric Blanchart (Technofutur TIC) and Stéphane Vanden Ecrie actors
  • A conference given by Óscar Martínez (Transit Projectes, Spain, one of the partners of Open Minds) on “Artificial intelligence in the associative world”, its opportunities and risks, especially in relation to free software and data protection.

Thanks to this mobilization and the involvement of the partners, this day has not only allowed to give visibility to the Open Minds project, but also to strengthen a community of European actors committed to a free, ethical and accessible digital technology.
